We are proud to announce Joanna Sokołowska as our guest at Nordiska Gästateljén Malongen for the remainder of February 2018 within the project CRIS (Curatorial Residency in Stockholm). She will give a public talk on 20th February. Drinks will be served.

Joanna Sokołowska is a curator and art historian, she works for the Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź, Poland. She is in interested in artistic cartographies of the world-ecology and economy, and in art as a  model for future ecologies and collective forms of environment-making. Selected exhibitions include:

Curatorial Residency in Stockholm (CRIS) is a collaboration between the Nordic Art Association in Sweden and Jonatan Habib Engqvist, curator and writer. It was conceived in 2015 as free-space for curators. Previous guests have been: Elena Agudio (IT), Abir Boukhari (SY), Övul O. Durmusoglu (TU), Eva González-Sancho (ES), Juha Huskonen (FI), Lorenzo Sandoval (ES), Marina Vale Noronha (BRA), Amara Antilla (US), Basak Senova (TR). CRIS has also been able to send Swedish curators to Egypt, Finland and Turkey. In 2017 CRIS collaborated with the curatorial program for research, CPR on a nomadic residency for 9 curators to Estonia, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. The project has been supported from multiple sources, including Nordisk Kulturfond, the Swedish Arts Council, the city of Stockholm, Institut français de Suède, the Spanish embassies in Stockholm, Oslo and Tallinn, The Estonian Contemporary Art Development Center, Kultur Skåne, Tjeckiska centret Stockholm, Danish Arts Foundation as well as several local collaborations.

From 2018 CRIS will be partnering with N.B.C – Nordic-Baltic Curatorial Research Programme – together with Frame Finland and CCA, Estonia.
