We are proud to announce Adam Kleinman as our guest at Nordiska Gästateljén Malongen in April within the project CRIS (CuratorialResidency in Stockholm). 
Adam Kleinman is writer, curator, and lecturer.  Most recently he served as editor in chief and adjunct curator at Witte de With Center forContemporary Art, Rotterdam, where he co-ran WdW Review, and led the curation of numerous exhibitions and public programs. Previously he served as the agent for public programming for documenta 13. Kleinman was also curator at LowerManhattan Cultural Council, where he created the interpretative humanities program “Access Restricted.” He is a frequent contributor to multiple books andmagazines including, Artforum, e-flux journal, frieze, and Texte zurKunst.  Most recently Kleinman authored monographic texts on Pedro Reyes(Harvard University Press), and John Latham (Serpentine Galleries). 
 
Curatorial Residency in Stockholm (CRIS) is a collaboration between the Nordic Art Association in Swedenand Jonatan Habib Engqvist, curator and writer. It was conceived in 2015 asfree-space for curators. Previous guests have been: Elena Agudio (IT), AbirBoukhari (SY), Övul O. Durmusoglu (TU), Eva González-Sancho (ES), JuhaHuskonen (FI), Lorenzo Sandoval (ES), Viktorija Šiaulytė(ES), Marina Vale Noronha (BRA), AmaraAntilla (US), Basak Senova (TR), Joanna Sokołowska(PL), Berit Schuck (DE/EG). CRIS has also been able to send Swedishcurators to Egypt, Finland, Iceland, Iran and Turkey. In 2017 CRIS collaborated with the curatorial program for research, CPR on a nomadic residency for 9 curators to Estonia, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. The project hasbeen supported from multiple sources, including Nordisk Kulturfond, the SwedishArts Council, the city of Stockholm, Institut français de Suède, the Spanish embassies in Stockholm, Oslo andTallinn, The Estonian Contemporary Art Development Center, Kultur Skåne,Tjeckiska centret Stockholm, Danish Arts Foundation as well as several local collaborations.
This year CRIS is also collaborating with FRAME, Finland and CCA, Estonia withcuratorial assistant stipends that will be announced shortly.
