RISK(U) #15 Katarina Sylvan feat. Luxemburg Press, Paul Sigerhall & AW with Max Ronnersjö

RISK(U) – Room and Initiative for Artistic Development Work, invites our fifteenth guest Katarina Sylvan for a work session in the beginning of October.

Katarina Sylvan provides NKF with an atmospherical intervention and guest appearances by her "usual suspects" collaborators. Lightbulbs, the Xerox 914, stroboscopes, unidentified found light phenomena and one-way mirrors adorn the rooms, activated on the opening night by a performance by the artist together with musician Paul Sigerhall.

Welcome Friday October 6th 18.00 – 21.00 @ the Nordic Guest Studio, NKF, Nytorget 15A

Performance with Katarina Sylvan and Paul Sigerhall at 19.00

Present during the opening is also publishing house Luxemburg Press, for the occasion releasing The Double – a theatrical play in one act that puts two Olympis fencers through the Turing Test, judged by the late artist Dan Graham. The artist Max Ronnersjö performs as bartender.

Attention: Contains flashing lights. Viewer discretion is advised.

READ ALONG! Join Tuesday October 3rd 18.00 – 20.00, NKF Guest Studio, Nytorget 15A

Katarina Sylvan suggests a reading session of the text Slow Motion And Sports – Corporeal "Imageries," Hypnosis and Transfigured Time by Jasmine Pisapia.

According to Katarina, the text is—despite its laborious title—a pleasurable, verging on romantic, gaze on locomotion through an artistic lense, synchronising phenomena such as the filmic medium, Olympic sports, slow motion, images and psychology.

The occasion is initiated and moderated by Katarina Sylvan in collaboration with Liv Strand for NKF. We look forward to highlighting the RISK(U) project together with Katarina Sylvan's practice. The reading circle is open for everyone, and the text is distributed after signing up, via e-mail to liv@livstrand.com

RISK(U), Room and Initiative for Artistic Development Work, is a platform that make space for artistic research, providing time for deepened artistic work. We welcome collaborations in need of an open, not yet defined, space in order to be formulated. It is about establishing a concentrated time-space for a specific project. With RISK(U) the Malongen studio space is for artistic dialogue, in art and through art.

RISK(U) operates with support from Kulturrådet, The Swedish Arts Council, & NKF is supported by Stockholm stad, Region Stockholm
