Curatorial Residency in Stockholm (CRIS) is a collaboration between the Nordic Art Association in Sweden and Jonatan Habib Engqvist, curator and writer. During their residency period, curators live in central Stockholm and can immerse themselves in the local art scene. It was conceived in 2015 as free-space for curators. Previous guests include: Eva González-Sancho (ES), Abir Boukhari (SY), Övul O. Durmusoglu (TU) Juha Huskonen (FI) and Marina Vale Noronha (BRA). This year CRIS has also been able to send Swedish curators to Egypt, Finland and Turkey. CRIS is supported by The Swedish Arts Council and the city of Stockholm as well as local collaborations for each guest. CRIS is currently developing collaborations with, among other places HIAP (Helsinki), MASS (Alexandria) and Residency Unlimited (New York).
