We are proud to announce Viktorija Šiaulytė as our guest at Nordiska Gästateljén Malongen in March within the project CRIS (Curatorial Residency in Stockholm). Public talk will be announced shortly.

Viktorija Šiaulytė is an independent curator and producer working within the fields of contemporary art, architecture and film. Since 2013 she is researcher and co-curator for the project Zooetics, organized by Jutempus Interdisciplinary Art Program in Vilnius, Lithuania, a non profit organization run by artists Nomeda and Gediminas Urbonas. Zooetics has presented events in Folkestone Triennial, UK; Reykjavik Art Museum, Iceland, Kaunas University of Technology and Contemporary Art Centre in Vilnius, Lithuania among others. Viktorija has previously collaborated with Architecture (Publication) Fund, initiating a joint project between Architecture Fund and Vilnius University and co-editing its publications "Modernism: Between Criticism and Nostalgia" as well as "Subversive Opportunism". 

Together with filmmakers Marta Dauliute and Elisabeth Marjanovic’ Cronvall she co-founded Last Project, a platform for new ways of working with audience engagement through long term collaborative productions. They are currently working together on research and documentary film project "Good Life", to be released in 2019. Viktorija holds MFA in Critical Writing and Curatorial Practice from Konstfack, Stockholm and BA in Art History from Vilnius Academy of Art.

Curatorial Residency in Stockholm (CRIS) is a collaboration between the Nordic Art Association in Sweden and Jonatan Habib Engqvist, curator and writer. It was conceived in 2015 as free-space for curators. Previous guests have been: Elena Agudio (IT), Abir Boukhari (SY), Övul O. Durmusoglu (TU), Eva González-Sancho (ES), Juha Huskonen (FI), Lorenzo Sandoval (ES), Marina Vale Noronha (BRA), Amara Antilla (US), Basak Senova (TR), Joanna Sokołowska (PL). CRIS has also been able to send Swedish curators to Egypt, Finland, Iceland, Iran and Turkey. In 2017 CRIS collaborated with the curatorial program for research, CPR on a nomadic residency for 9 curators to Estonia, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. The project has been supported from multiple sources, including Nordisk Kulturfond, the Swedish Arts Council, the city of Stockholm, Institut français de Suède, the Spanish embassies in Stockholm, Oslo and Tallinn, The Estonian Contemporary Art Development Center, Kultur Skåne, Tjeckiska centret Stockholm, Danish Arts Foundation as well as several local collaborations.
