During their stay in NKF’s Guest studio, Jul Vedelsby and Ericsson will work on an exhibition project, drawing connections between the interior and the exterior aspects of bodies and images. In a series of drawings, photographs, and videos they will approach both new material and earlier work, seeking connections between their different practices. The project will be exhibited in the guest studio at the end of the residency period.
Frederikke Jul Vedelsby (b. 1990, Cph. DK) is working across drawing, text, and time-based media. Her work is investigating access to expanded states of consciousness, working with information gained through the body in this state. Recent shows include ”Precious Us” at Matteo Cantarella, Copenhagen, and SEE GIRLS at Ergo in Athens.
Nadja Ericsson (b. 1989, Stockholm) works with film and video for both cinema and installations. Visual history, and the various ways that images and memories get stored and retold – technically as well as emotionally – are recurring themes in her work. Her latest work, the feature-length film ’The Wild Duck’, premiered at International Film Festival Rotterdam 2023.
