During their residency Artist Hanna Sjöstrand based in Norway has been invited by artist Shiva Niiko Anoushirvani based in Stockholm. Together they will work on a project called Animal.
At NKF they aim to build an archive out of experiences collected through interviews, field studies and workshops. The workshops and the field studies evolves around communication focusing on empathy through Kung Fu training, live drawing sessions with Kento, (a dog de bordeaux), and herd existence practice with horses. Interviews will be held with butchers, animal therapeutics, lab-scientists, veterinarians, hunters and those who are working close to other species.
The archive they create at NKF works as a source material in their artistic practice. Artists Hanna Sjöstrand and Shiva Niiko Anoushirvani will hold a public event at NKF on November 27th to mark the end of their residency and share insights from their project Animal.
